How to Eat Caviar
Caviar is easily considered to be one of the most coveted delicacies in the culinary world. It can be intimidating for someone first entering the world of caviar because of its high cost and class. It is considered a luxury food, however, many people are unaware of how to properly consume caviar. Here is a guide for our recommendation of storing, serving, consuming, and pairing caviar.
Storing and Serving Caviar
Caviar must be stored in a very cold environment, around 28-35 degrees fahrenheit, to ensure its quality. Because heat rises, an optimal place to store the caviar would be at the coldest part of the fridge which would be the bottom of the fridge near the back. It should be served in the tin while nestled in a bowl of ice. Avoid using metal utensils when scooping the caviar as it may alter the quality of the eggs and result in a metallic taste. We suggest using our mother of pearl spoons in order to savor the true taste of the caviar and avoid tainting its quality. Upon opening, it is best that the caviar is consumed immediately.

Consuming Caviar
Caviar is a delicacy that can be consumed as either a garnish or a spread. It is extremely versatile and can be eaten with almost any dish. Caviar is most commonly spread on lightly buttered bread, unsalted crackers, or dry toast. We first suggest consuming the caviar as is in order to relish its true flavor without altering the taste. Eating the caviar beads by itself can help to cherish and savor the flavor of this high delicacy product. Because of its high delicacy, it is suggested to consume each bite in small portions, typically about ½ teaspoon. |
